EABL CFO Risper Ohaga to step down in June
East African Breweries Limited(EABL) Chief Finance Officer, Risper Ohaga, will step down from her role at the end of June after six years in the role, the brewer announced today.

East African Breweries Limited(EABL) Chief Finance Officer, Risper Ohaga, will step down from her role at the end of June after six years in the role, the brewer said in an announcement today.
Risper, who joined in February 2020, will leave at the end of June. The company said her replacement will be the subject of another announcement.
Risper had previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Barclays Bank Zambia plc before her appointment at the East African brewer to succeed Győrgy Geizl, who left for a senior role at the parent company, Diageo
EABL says Risper resigned to pursue other interests outside the EABL Group, in line with her career aspirations.
Her exit comes shortly after Asahi acquired majority stake in EABL Group from Diageo, about a month ago.
The company was full of praise for Risper for her contributions to the company:
“During her tenure, Risper has distinguished herself for her financial acuity and bold decision making, optimizing the company’s balance sheet and funding during the Covid-19 pandemic to ensure that strategy is fully funded while costs are well managed to deliver strong results.”
“She has been instrumental in driving performance , strengthening controls and governance, building talent and deepening investor relations.”
Risper won multiple awards during her stay at EABL which included CFO of the Year 2024, The Women on Boards Award 2024 and The Inclusive Leader Award - East Africa 2024.
